She was raised with her three siblings: with two sisters and a brother. Hungarian was her first language and she used it frequently to maintain her fluency. Bruckner was a Californian from Hollywood born to Hungarian parents and Russian mothers who had divorced. Her paternal grandmother was German. Her parents were married in Hungary and relocated from Hungary to U.S. in 1984 through a refugee camp in Italy. She has a sister and brother.
